What types of anaesthesia do you offer?
We offer various types of anaesthesia to ensure our patients’ comfort during dental procedures. The type of anaesthesia depends on the complexity of the treatment and the patient’s needs. In general, you can expect to experience no pain during treatments.

Do you offer sedation?
Currently, we do not offer sedation however this is not needed, though we understand people may have had bad experiences with old-fashioned dentists not managing pain there is no pain in modern dentistry. If anxiety is an issue an oral sedative prescribed by your GP can manage this.

How do you handle emergencies outside of office hours?
We understand that dental emergencies can happen at any time. That’s why we have a dedicated emergency line available for our patients outside of office hours that is only available immediately after your treatment. You can also ring us out of hours, leave a message and we’ll ring back if so needed. If you experience swelling moving downwards or bleeding that does not stop, report to an A&E

How does Smile Store handle PRSI/TAX claims for dental work?
Smile Store is fully registered to handle PRSI and TAX claims for dental work. Our team will guide you through the process, ensuring that you receive the appropriate documentation to claim back your entitlements.
Smile Store can provide you with the Med 2 Form; will ensure it’s signed by your specialists and will fill in all dates, times and costs of your eligible treatments, itemising them for you.
You can claim back 20% tax relief on all non-routine dental treatments. You can claim for any treatment over the past 4 years. All eligible treatments are noted on our fees page, so a quick glance will tell you what you can claim for in your Med 2 Form.

If I currently have a dentist but want to change to Smile Store, how does that work?
If you are currently with another dentist but wish to change to Smile Store, we make the transition seamless for you.
If you are looking for specialist treatments or a dental hygienist while keeping your regular general dentist, you are also welcome, with or without a referral letter.

Acceptance of medical cards
Very few general treatments are covered by the medical card including most of our specialist services. For example, we don’t offer silver fillings or regular dentures that are covered as these are no longer modern treatments and we offer much higher quality specialised solutions so we can’t accept medical cards.

Will I need a full hygiene session?
One full 1 hour session and one 30 minute session is normally required per year, unless otherwise stated by the dentist/hygienist. New patients will always receive an initial 1 hour hygiene session.
